First, I’d like to extend a sincere thank you to everyone who came out and supported Beyond Aesthetics at our open house event. The response was fantastic and the questions have been pouring in about some of the demonstrations that we showcased, particularly about Kybella.
Kybella is an amazing new treatment we offer to get rid of your pesky double chin.* If you missed the demonstration at the open house, the procedure is a series of tiny injections of medication which breaks down fat cells. Most patients need an average of 2 vials per treatment, but it varies based on the size of the treatment area, and a treatment typically takes 15-20 minutes to complete. I’m seeing that 2-3 treatments is the sweet spot where most patients are satisfied with their results.*
One of the questions I frequently hear is, “how much does it hurt?’ During the injections, patients report their pain level to be about 3 or 4 out of 10 at first. Once the medication begins to break down the fat cells, patients report a slight stinging sensation and a pain level of about 5 or 6 out of 10, but that feeling quickly goes away once the procedure is finished. After your treatment, you can expect to feel fairly swollen (sort of like a bullfrog) and mildly sore. Usually patients are able to feel comfortable being out in public within 1 to 2 days, or perhaps immediately if you’re proud to show off your latest aesthetic enhancement treatment!
