Preferred Provider of Tattoo Removal in Camarillo and Ventura
The Q-switched Nd:YAG is the most frequently used laser for tattoo removal. During treatment, pulses of light from the laser are directed onto the tattoo, breaking up the tattoo pigment. Over the next several weeks the body’s immune system safely filters the treated pigment out of the body.*
Depending on the size, age and color of your tattoo, and whether it was done by a professional or amateur, the number of treatments needed will vary. Your tattoo may be removed in four to twelve visits, though more sessions may be necessary.
There are other forms of tattoo removal treatments available on the market, but we have found that our particular type of laser is highly effective and efficient in removing various types of tattoos on various types of skin.

Laser Tattoo Removal FAQ’s
Does it hurt?
It is fairly uncomfortable, though we can use topical numbing cream to help with the pain. Relative to getting an actual tattoo, patients report feeling a similar level of pain but with a heat element that makes it different.
What is the healing process like?
Some patients experience local swelling, pinpoint bleeding and sometimes small blisters. These are all normal reactions and typically go away within a few days. Some patients report scabbing. We ask that you keep a greasy ointment (like Bacitracin or Aquaphor) on the treated area for 1-2 weeks after treatment.
Will the treatment leave me with scars?
While the laser is extremely safe with all skin types, there is a chance of scarring depending upon the depth of the pigment. Lighter skin types tend to have fewer issues. We will assess your skin and tattoo and determine the safest course of treatment for you.
Can color tattoos be removed?
Yes. We have two different laser heads that we use depending upon the color of the tattoo. While dark colors tend to fade faster, we are still able to get great results with removing brighter colors using combinations of laser heads.
How long do I have to wait between treatments?
We have found that it is best to wait 6-8 weeks between treatment for optimal results. While a treatment may appear to have healed 2-3 weeks after, there are still cellular changes occurring which causes the tattoo to gradually lighten beyond that time.
