What is Laser Skin Resurfacing?

HALO is a revolutionary laser skin resurfacing treatment for men and women of all ages and skin types. Laser skin resurfacing is a minimally-invasive procedure that can improve the overall appearance of the skin, including tone, texture, and elasticity, and achieve dramatic anti-aging results.  Additionally, laser skin resurfacing can treat a wide variety of skin conditions and common skin concerns with one device with dual firing lasers in a quick and easy in-office treatment.

How Does HALO Work?

HALO is a first-in-kind hybrid fractional laser that has ablative and non-ablative modalities and works by delivering wavelengths of targeted energy to penetrate both the outer layer of skin (epidermis) and the deeper layers of skin (dermis).

First, an ablative setting is used to create precise micro injuries to the epidermis, or superficial layer of skin. These micro injuries accelerate the body’s natural healing response and instigate cellular turnovers to correct pigmentation issues and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Then the dermis, or deeper layer of skin, is targeted with a single column of uniform heat to generate a controlled non-ablative thermal injury that accelerates the production of collagen and elastin which works to tone and tighten the skin while reducing pore size.

What Skin Conditions Benefit from Laser Skin Resurfacing?

HALO can treat a variety of skin conditions including:

Why HALO at beyond|AESTHETICS?

At b|A, we understand that there are many lasers and a variety of aesthetic treatments to choose from. Our experienced aesthetic specialists love HALO because it is a unique dual wavelength laser that targets both the epidermis and dermis in each treatment zone, optimizing treatment times and achieving more dramatic results. HALO is truly the world’s first all-in-one laser treatment. It is safe for all ages, skin complexions, and ethnicities and is ideal for treating the face, neck, chest, hands, and back.

HALO Recovery and Results

Another benefit of HALO is that healing time is substantially less than with traditional lasers. While each patient is different and recovery can vary depending on the depth and percentage of skin treated, the average downtime is 5-7 days following treatment.

After treatment it’s common to experience warmth on the treated areas—that many compare to the feeling of sunburn—for approximately 2 hours or less, as well as some pinpoint bleeding and tiny dark spots called MENDS (Microscopic Epidermal Necrotic Debris), as well as mild redness and swelling.

HALO results may be visible as early as 2 weeks after treatment, and will continue to improve over the next 2-3 months. Patients can expect to see an overall decrease in fine lines, wrinkles and hyperpigmentation, a dramatic improvement in pore size and skin texture, improved skin elasticity, and a beautiful post-HALO rosy glow.

HALO and Beyond

There are a variety of contributing factors to natural deterioration of our overall skin health, including aging, sun exposure, tanning beds, environmental pollutants and even an active outdoor lifestyle. The number of HALO resurfacing treatments each patient needs to reach their goals is based upon the extent of existing damage to the skin. During the consultation, our clinicians who are expert HALO providers will examine the skin and determine the number of treatments necessary to reach each patient’s skin goals.

Following HALO treatment, we recommend investing in medical-grade skincare and offer a variety of advanced options such as SkinMedicaEpionceiSClinical. Many people spend a great deal of money on over-the-counter skincare products that show little to no improvement and don’t have the ability to penetrate deeply into the skin. Integrating advanced skincare into your daily routine can help maintain results and prevent further skin damage.
