Preparing for Your BBL Treatment

4 Weeks Before

Strict Sun Avoidance: Avoid active sun exposure, tanning beds, and self-tanning creams/spray tans. Tanned skin contains active melanin that increases the risk of thermal injury or hyperpigmentation.

7 Days Before

Pause Photosensitizers: Discontinue topical active ingredients like Retin-A, Retinoids, Glycolic Acid, Salicylic Acid, and Benzoyl Peroxide.
Blood Thinners & Alcohol: Avoid blood thinners (aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil) and alcohol for 3–7 days prior to reduce bruising risk if vascular lesions are being targeted.

Day of Treatment

Clean Skin: Arrive with completely clean skin, free of makeup, perfumes, lotions, or deodorants on the treatment zone.
Hydrate: Drink plenty of water before your appointment.

What is BBL HEROic, and how does it work?

BBL HEROic (BroadBand Light High Energy Rapid Output with Intelligent Control) is an advanced light-based therapy created by Sciton. Unlike standard IPL, HEROic uses real-time spatial tracking to sense the handpiece’s movement across your skin, delivering precise, automated pulses of light energy in a smooth gliding motion. How many sessions will I need, and does the treatment hurt?
