Age + Sun = Lines, wrinkles, hollows, sagging…you get the idea. Fortunately, we have safe and minimally invasive hyaluronic acid fillers to give skin a more youthful appearance.* Hyaluronic acid is a natural molecule found in the body. When it is injected into the skin, hyaluronic acid binds with water and expands to fill out and plump the skin deficit from the inside.

juvederm voluma logo
voluma before and after
Voluma is a hyaluronic acid gel that’s injected into the skin to instantly restore lost volume to the cheeks. As you age, you start to lose hyaluronic acid which causes the skin to lose structure and volume. Loss of volume in the cheeks leads to sagging skin and a hollow appearance. By restoring lost volume, Voluma instantly creates a more youthful appearance.*

Volbella is the newest addition to the JUVÉDERM family. It’s Hyaluronic Acid is also bound together with Vycross technology (similar to Voluma) but Volbella is a thinner HA, making it the perfect solution for very fine lines, like those around the mouth. It can also be used to fill out tear troughs.

JUVÉDERM Volux is a hyaluronic acid-based (HA) filler intended to contour the chin and jawline. This FDA-approved dermal filler can improve facial symmetry, define your jawline, or correct the appearance of a recessed chin. JUVÉDERM Volux’s highly cohesive formulation offers long-lasting results that are visible for up to two years.

JUVÉDERM Vollure XC is a versatile hyaluronic acid filler that is used to treat wrinkles and lines on the face. JUVÉDERM Ultra Plus XC is a thicker hyaluronic acid gel that is used to treat deeper wrinkles and facial folds, as well as to enhance certain features by adding volume or correcting age-related volume loss. JUVÉDERM FAQs

How long does it last?

This depends on a few factors. There are currently 4 JUVÉDERM products approved for use in the USA. Each product has a different indication, but we interchange some products depending on the area treated and your aesthetic goals. All JUVÉDERM products are made from hyaluronic acid (HA) that are simply cross-linked in different ways. Volbella and Voluma utilize Vycross technology, which binds the HA more closely together allowing longer lasting results (1 year with Volbella and 2 years with Voluma). JUVÉDERM Ultra and Ultra Plus utilize Hylacross technology, which combines HA in a way that allows water molecules to bind to it, creating slightly more volume once the product is settled but lasts 6-9 months.*

How many syringes will I need?

This depends on what area we’re treating, age of the patient and the amount of volume loss present. Some general rules of thumb- Under eyes: 1-2 syringes, Cheeks: 2-3 syringes, Nasolabial folds: 2 syringes, Lips-1-2 syringes, Chin: 1-2, Jawline: 2-3, Chin + Jawline: 4-6.

What's the typical product and amount you put in lips?

For most patients seeking a noticeable but natural looking lip, I like to use JUVÉDERM Ultra. The hyaluronic acid in JUVÉDERM Ultra gives a beautiful, soft, pouty lip while still looking as if you have always had lips like that. JUVÉDERM Volbella is the other product I like for lips and lip lines when less volume is needed. We see great results with combining both JUVÉDERM Ultra and Volbella to give the ultimate lip augmentation. If you’re looking for increased lip volume it’s best to stagger treatments with 1 syringe no sooner than every month until desired volume is achieved.

What if I don't like the results?

We want you to love your treatment and will work with you to meet your aesthetic goals. Our products contain hyaluronic acid, which has an antidote in the event that it needs to be dissolved.

Is there anything I should do before my appointment?

You can start taking Arnica Montana a couple of days before your appointment and continue to take it the day after. Arnica helps to prevent bruising and swelling associated with injections. You should also avoid certain things like ibuprofen, aspirin, fish oil, ginkgo biloba, and alcohol as these substances thin the blood and make bruising and swelling more likely.

This is a very safe and common procedure.

How long will the bruising/swelling last?

If you get a bruise with injections, it’s usually the worst 1-2 days after treatment but can linger for a week or so. Most patients report being able to adequately cover bruising with make-up if needed. Drinking pineapple juice after injections can help to make the bruise fade quicker due to the Bromalin content in the juice. Some degree of swelling is almost inevitable after dermal filler injections. Like bruising, swelling is typically the greatest for 1-2 days after treatment and depending on the area treated, micro-swelling may be present for up to a month.

*Results and patient experience may vary.

Look and feel your best.
